hi

a few months back, it appeared that one or more of my glowplugs were faulty, ie the light failed to come on with the ignition but then came on about a minute after starting for about 30 seconds..... it did this for about 2 months.

i decided to leave it until i had time to fix,

but now they all seem to be working again.

do you reckon i could have a loose connection? if so any common area where i could check?

due to the common risk of them snapping in the head on OM606 engines i dont want to be messing with them unless i really have to!!

can a failed glowplug work again?

Highly unlikely that a failed glow plug would come back to life.
Much more likely is an intermittant connection or a dodgy relay.

+1 for the above

I have had this happen in the past as well. In my case the "remission period" did not last long and the glow plug light started coming back on again so I had to bite the bullet and get them changed. I would do it myself now but back then it went to the local indi - who did have a bit of a fight with one of the original 150k mile glow plugs. 60k+ miles later and fingers crossed!

I can understand why you are holding off but you will have to do them at some point.....may as well be now rather than the middle of January!
