Can I lock car if its on trickle charge?

If I were to plug my car into a battery conditioner (on the under bonnet terminals) - so the bonnet is down but not locked - can I lock the car, or will the car "know" the bonnet is open and cause the alarm to go off?

Try it, most alarms do have bonnet sensor. If it doesnt work take the wires in through the grill if possible or from under the car.

I suspect the alarm would go off. Can you not run the cable through the grille, or up from underneath the vehicle?
