May be an odd question this one? I currently have 4x225/40/18s all round but know the correct size for my W210 is actually 235/40/18, I can't really afford to replace all 4 at once and my rears are getting near renewal time so I am thinking could I run 2x235/40s at the rear with 2x225/40s at the front?

Need to ensure won't have any problems, steering, wear etc. Can some kind soul let me know if this is OK?

Cheers :)

Should mention that the wheels are all the same size, no staggered set up or anything like that!

This tyre calculator shows that the wheels will have a speed difference of 1.3%. I suspect that this will not be enough to trigger ABS or cruise control problems, but maybe someone else knows better?

On the basic question 'can I mix 2 sizes of tyre' - my 6mth old C270 estate came with different size front and back tyres - 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 rear. It's standard fitment on the Avantgarde trim (and maybe others too) but the difference is very noticeable and lot of people comment on it. The rolling circumference is the same.

Are the rims of staggered width front and rear??

I am running 8*18 on the fron with 225/40/18
and 9*18 on the rear with 255/35/18

W210 would have had 235/40 and 265/35 in 'staggered'

Nope the rims are all the same, hence why as someone posted above there is a small diff on the circumference etc. I wasn't sure whether I could run the 2 diff sizes?

If your question is aimed at me, then yes, the car comes with 7J front and 8J rear.

In that case if your rims are the same width I wouldnt like to comment. try dropping Murray Systems A PM he knows his stuff.
