My 1991 SL500 failed its MoT today on a broken front o/s suspension spring

I have checked my parts manual and as far as I can tell the correct part number is A1293210804 - but the manual is a but vague on part numbers versus model year

Can anyone confirm please?

Also any recommendation on where to buy and how much I should expect to pay?

Thanks

post you VIN as it's the best way to match a part to a vehicle

It's the correct part number for a 129 spring but it all depends on OE fitted equipement as to whether that's the correct part number for your car....or not. A dealer is your best bet: armed with your Vin he'll reference the datacard. It's calculated on points awarded for various options.

+1 for replacing the pair, the best place to get the springs without doubt is your local MB dealer, you will then get exactly the right specced ones for your car, the springs are specced according to the equipment/options fitted to the car.
Personally unless I was going to fit good quality specialist performance/lowering springs to the car I would never fit aftermarket. Last time I bought springs from MB they in the region of £50ish each, that was for my AMG.
