Can the fascia be changed from single din to double din?

I'm looking around now (and have been for some time!) to replace my crappy MB tape player. It's only single DIN though and the whole fascia in the centre of the dash would need changed, as well as removing the cubby hole above the ashtray.

Whats the score with getting a double DIN fascia please?

doable, but depends on the switches you already have on the fascia.
they are always some going on ebay, whether here or germany.

I have just replaced the carbon look fascia on my W202. There is a 'skeleton' behind this that accepts the fascia itself, so providing there are a couple of types of the 'skeletons' i.e. single din or double din I don't see a problem.
Why don't you check part numbers on the new russian site.

Theres a Russian VIN decoder...and yes Ive seen double dins in alot....just takes some modding and ingenuity

The facias are not readily available any more. Search the scrap yards.
