Can Vario roof glass be re coated ?

2009 R171 Slk 280.

I have noticed that one of the black triangular glass panels of my Vario roof
is partially discoloured/faded.
It's almost as if it has lost some of the paint covering (if indeed it had any)

Has anyone else had this problem, and can it be restored ?

If it's the two pieces either side of the rear screen then they are not glass, they are tinted hard plastic, so if there really is a problem with the finish then replacement is the only way to go really.

Replacement it is then.
They aren't all that expensive ( £36 each from MB dealer).
