Can you identify these wheels?

These are the wheels on my CLK. They have a polished lip and I was wondering what the name of them were.

Not overly keen on them but would be good to know what they’re called.

Cheers

Take the wheel off and look for any info stamped on the inside of the alloy wheel.

I stand corrected, however there are a few selling on eBay calling them monoblock that look very similar

They do resemble Monoblocks (or at least they look like they may be a version of them) which is why I tentatively suggested them.

The reason that I was tentative is that the one in the photo had a convex not flat face and what looks like larger holes.

Meraks they are then.

I agree with you OP , I'm not keen on them either . Looks like they have been refurbished and the outer lip has bee masked off for a two tone effect 🤷‍♂️. Has it ?

They were diamond cut on the outer edge from new. Many have now been refinished all over in silver to get away from the milking that often occurs on the bright bit. I had these on my 1998 CLK back in the day. Looked good back then, but they are small by today’s standards

I thought that 'monoblock' was the description of the rim type, not the name of a specific model? It's possible that over the years the name became synonym with a specific model, but as far as I know MB never had a rim design actually called 'monoblock'?

Technically a Monoblock wheel is any one piece wheel.....so most of them. But most people on here use that term for any of the slab faced Merc and AMG wheels....like this...

They are diamond cut/polished on the outer lip. Really not keen on them. Would much rather soma Bola b10s 😂 but they’re ££££

They might look better if they were 18s but as a 16 nuh oh. Not my taste. Aside from needing a really good clean now (photo in OP is a few years old) they’re in alright condition so will likely end up on fleabay and here at some point!

They might be small, but with the state of the roads in this country at the moment, a bit of tyre sidewall can be a wallet saver ;)
Dear Rish! has promised the money saved from scrapping some of HS2 is going to be spent on potholes. I wonder if his wife has recently bought shares in Colas…

I mean you make a very good point there regarding the roads aha! I'm too tight to swap any time soon honestly. Car has 4 new tyres on it at the moment and don't fancy buying another 4

You mean she didn't already have shares?! ;)

I had a slow air leak from one of the 20" wheels on the Hyundai.

It turned out to be a leak from the inner side of the rim. Removing the tyre and resealing it on the rim solved the problem.

The car is only 2 years old and this was the original wheel and Michelin tyre, so the seal shouldn't have really failed in this way.

My guess is that the inner side of the low profile tyre got hit by the sharp shoulder of a speed bump. If so, then I'm lucky that the rim itself didn't got cracked.

But, yes, large wheels with low profile tyres are far more susceptible to damage.
