Just recently started viewing YouTube on our tele. In the words of Alan Partridge typing a search with the smart remote pointer can be 'a long drawn out affair!'

Thought a keyboard would be much quicker, however very mixed reviews:

Our tele is Curved Samsumg 'UE 48JS 8500'

I use my phone or tablet and cast to the TV, it's ace!

Lewy, I'm a builder. You'll have to do better than that fella. :dk:

Got Samsung smart view app in 9" iPad. Any good?

OK, get youtube up on your phone or tablet and press on the little cast symbol - it looks like a TV screen with a radar in the bottom left corner.
You should see your TV ID in the pop-up, select that.
On mine this is enough to switch on the TV and start playing Yutube.

My Mum needs a wall rebuilding, I'm not the man!

Arrr, I see. So you're basically doing it other way around and watching YouTube through your phone/iPad?

Yes I suppose so, I find it easier and my preferences and viewing history are kept in one place.

    Plus it's very easy indeed.

Just remembered that if you cast from a windows device you can use Chrome with ad-blocker which is nice.

    Taken on board,

However, I'd still like to explore the Smart Keyboard option.

    Anyone?

    Hi Ant,

Just picked up on this one, I have a Samsung Smart Keyboard & it's nothing short of Poo, it's so sensitive to the movement.

    Thanks Dave.

Yeah, some of the reviews say similar. Is it that bad that you don't bother to use it?

Since posting this thread we've been using iPad/s to enjoy YouTube. :thumb:

Please can you techies help with our latest issue?

The last two weeks (ish) we have been unable to build up a queue of music or even connect to TV & iPad.

First song sometimes works then when we click 'add to queue' on subsequent songs the iPad displays 'added to queue' but no such queue exists. :dk:

Tried all sorts of solutions including:

Deleting YouTube app from iPad and reinstalling.
Searching for updates on iPad & TV.
    Syncing iPad on PC.

Any help would be really appreciated. Now we've lost this function it's made us realise just how much we enjoyed building a 20/30 track queue of our fav tunes. :(

    Ant.
