Hey guys. I've searched for this (Google as well as on here) but can't find an answer.
I need to replace the V-belt tensioner (and belt) on my '98 CLK 320 W208. It's the old type tensioner without the bolt head to take the tension off for access to the lower mounting bolt.
My understanding from various internet sources is that on this type you use the pulley mounting nut to rotate the tensioner. However it moved so far but then the nut started to turn, instead of the tensioner rotating.
Is it possible to access the lower bolt with the pulley removed? Or what am I missing here?
Regards.
