Can't turn alarm off

Alarm went off and wouldn't turn off even with engine running? Eventually it stopped on its own. No lights flashing just siren going off.
Anyone any idea what this could be?
Car is E class 250d

Siren has lost contact with car (thats why no flashing lights) - check the alarm fuse, but possibly(probably..) needs new siren .. I guess it stopped when the battery went flat.

Took car to Mercedes it was the siren. When I picked it up today they said it's a known fault due to water ingress.
Covered under warranty so see how it gets on.

One of my neighbours experiences this problem on his E class. Or should I say I do, every single night as he sleeps sound tucked away in bed, as he parks it in the public car park behind my drive.

God knows where he lives he obviously doesn't hear it, perhaps time to leave a note on the car with the solution posted above!
