hi all

Just had new battery fitted on Wednesday. Drove the car today and noticed car went into limp mode. Parked up and then drove car later and again same thing happened and then suddenly EML comes on.

Could this be related to battery change?

Everything else on car seems fine?

Any help or suggestions

I have c220 cdi 2005

See if you can find a Mercedes specialist. The Star diagnostics they use are far more accurate than generic code readers.

Who changed the battery for you and how was the battery changed? Did the person change the battery while maintaining power to the the car? If so, how was the power applied to the car?

Hi guys

Just to give update.

Took car to mt local garage, he used his machine a few error codes.

But basically EGR valve problem and something wrong with turbo sellout, both sorted and car now runs. Better than ever.

This probl m keeps coming back.

Engine management light comes on when car goes into limp mode. It been twice into my local garage when I pick the car up it drives like new.
After around 10 miles goes into limp

My garage says they used a code reader, it obviously works because the car works fine when I pick it up

Any other ideas ?

You need to read and know the codes.

Knowing exactly what is putting the EML on is first port of call.

Can you post the error codes that the car currently has?

With these you will get more advice.

As previous post. Just clearing the codes will not help, the codes need to be read correctly and the root cause fault fixed.

Going back and forth to the mechanic may become an expensive habit!

There are hundreds of code readers available (like some of these) - Worthwhile investing into one. The last thing you want to do is waste time and money going back and forth to the mechanic.

I think you need to find a new garage.
If you find out the codes thats not always all the info you need. If you are not familiar with code readers or how to use them then I think its best you go to your local MB specialist so they can take a look.

FYI
