2013 e63 amg estate
I will be soon getting a new c63 amg on a two year contarct hire and I have found quite a few insurance companies wont insure a vehicle which is not registerd in your name.

Aviva , direct line and axa are usually who I use but they wont insure a contract hire car because you dont actually own it and the registration document is in mercedes finance name and they keep hold of it as you get road tax sent to you in post when it is due.

Anyone else found this and also anyone who has got a leass/contract hire vehicle make sure you are insured!!!!

I haven't had too many problems. Often when I used the comparison websites I noticed a number of companies wouldnt quote on a lease car so the only matches were more the expensive ones, but if I selected I am the owner/registered keeper, got the cheapest quote and then called that company they were fine.

Last company I used was elephant.co.uk who were happy it was a lease car and were the cheapest.

Try esure.

I've not come across this problem except for short term hire vehicles (monthly contracts).

But then again all my policies were in the name of a limited company. I'm not entirely sure why this would effect anything though. All they need to do is not a financial interest on the policy in case of total loss.

I don't buy the "you don't actually own it" line either. You don't own a car on HP or PCP until you've paid for it.

I would do the quote as though you're the owner, then do as Richard suggests.
