car is not running right

hi there over the last 3 weeks my car a c200 sport 95 manual with 122,000 miles on her has being acting up, today just when we came of the motorway the car lost powerso i pulled over to the side of the road and the rev counter was bouncing all over the place i left it running to see it it would correct itself and it didnt it was really struggling to tick over it was like the engine was trying to get out of the car it was shaking bad so i turned the ignition off and started back up and drove away as if nothing happened anyone have any idea what happened

Sounds like it temporarily lost 1 or 2 cylinders, maybe a coil?

is there away of finding out which coils it could be or would i just be better off changing the two ignition coils

ok just an update put a ignition spark tester on my car and there all geting sparks so im off to pick up two ignition coils and ill let yous know how i get on

right i have two ignition coils does anyone have any pointers for fiting them on my car the ignition coils are a bit akward to get at they ae under the throttle body do i need to take off the throttle body to do it

If you are getting a spark, then the coils are OK.

Perhaps the crankshaft sensor is on its way out?
