Car Mats

Can anyone help me as to where I can buy original E class car mats for an X reg W210
Main dealer

Quality carpets and the price might not be too extortionate.

Ebay sell replica carpets but you get what you pay for.

I would echo what John says.
Genuine mercedes mats will outlive the car (not hard on a w210) - the ones in my old 210 genuinely could look like new after 154,000 miles. The ones in the w124 I have are 15 years old, and although show some sign of yellowing (originally beige) show no signs of wear after 140,000 miles.

what colour is your car's interior?

I have a set (brand new/genuine MB) of beige/cream ribbed carpet mats for a 210

Out of interest - how does everyone clean their mats? I've always just stuck them in a bath full of warm water and persil for an hour or so then rinsed them through with the shower...

That seems to work for me with perhaps a soupçon of Vanish powder. After a good soak, I find working over them with the palms of my hand lifts the dirt out with the suds. Dunk them back in the soapy water and repeat a few times until the suds stay white, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. They come up like new (as do your hands).

problem with soaking mats for too long is that they lose their rigidity and so tend to ride up past the brake pedal more...

I just use a Bissell carpet cleaner / then vacuum....but usually just a vac.

Nick at euromerc.co.uk has several genuine w210 mat sets ar discounted prices

I've just used our Bissell on the seats on both cars, always amazes me how vile the waste water looks when you pour it out!

Merc cloth seats in the W211 look like new when cleaned though, and mine have had more than their share of espresso spilled on them!

To clean easy way spray with ctfr, rub in with soft broom, rinse with hose, leave to dry.
Brings them up spotless every time,:D effort required minimal.

Usually Vac then wash with Meguiars all purpose cleaner (sold in US gallon size) and soft brush rinse and let dry.

yep - you'll need to email me as I don't think you can send or receive private messages until you have a few more posts

......... it's now knackered

The velour AMG driver's mat in my car has worn around the heel-areas but is otherwise sound, and that's done 6 years/110k now

mine's[it's a proper mercedes ribbed one] like an old lettuce, no stiffness to it all - curls up against tranny tunnel and then starts folding over on itself - I used to straighten it at least once a day - have given up now though - it's like an old dog blanket now
