Never belived in Friday 13th till today.
Luckily was not my fault and other driver accepted liability. Exchanged details at the side of the road and left.
Got a phone call asking if it was ok for him to pay cash to repair car. I don't believe in claims for fake whiplash and stuff like that so am more than happy to go along this route. It's only a bumper and bonnet, not worth anyone's excess.
The fella was a nervous wreck at the scene, badly shaken up. Tried my best to calm him down and made sure he was ok.
All being well I'll meet him tomorrow and sort it over a coffee :):)

Looks like it was your "lucky day" with a squint eyed view. In that it will be sorted quickly and amicably. No great injuries either.

That's true. Glad car can still be driven as I have to use it whilst the dispute over my ML alternator continues

Hopefully your luck has just turned. And you will get the right outcome on that too.

Reminds me I must play the euro millions lol

Sorry to hear of the car, but result sounds decent.

My Friday the 13th was not an accident, I'd been caught in May doing 84 mph on a dual carriageway by a camera van while in my AMG, the letter asking me for my details arrived when I was in the final week of the builders finishing my house, and I mislaid it. I finally got it off, convinced I'd missed the deadline so constructed this hideous scenario in my mind that I was going to be done for the speeding (3 points) and the failure to supply details (possibly 6 points) and that when added to a near spent 3 points would cause me to lose my licence for 6 months under totting up.

So when the letter arrived this morning, on Friday the 13th, I thought the worst, and opened it to find they were offering me a speed awareness course. I was down the post office at the speed of light to post that back! Phew and double phew!

Go to your Speed Awareness course in the Allard Charles. That will make them sit up and take notice.

Go to your Speed Awareness course in the Allard Charles and show them the invoice. That will make them sit up then faint.

Go to your Speed Awareness course in the Allard , wearing slippers, driving gloves, a flat cap, a pipe in your top pocket and a hamper ono the back seat.

They won't believe why you are there :thumb:

As above but also tell them you're computer illiterate, that should cure the boredom

The majority of exercises you do are on a computer, basically clicking the mouse

In its current state, I'd have no chance of getting to the course in the Allard, so I would be the one sitting up and taking notice as the beak banned me for six months.

I shall find the whole thing fascinating and scintillating. Anything is better than 3 points.

So its the SM then. Still the talking point of the year for them.

Really?

Not the one I went on last month. First and last one I hope. ;)

The one I was on a couple of years ago you spent a log of the time on the computer selecting correct distances, travelling speed etc followed about a BS talk in how kind it was of the Govt to spend the revenue on motoring fines on safety awareness IIRC

It's the 210. The absence of rust will be their talking point. At 45 mpg vs 17 there's not an earthly I'd be taking anything else. Anyway, it will probably be in some horrible business park building, with parking miles away.

I shall agree with every word, if there are no points involved. I'll even bring them a bag of doughnuts*

(* it didn't work well on my weight-loss course though. That and arguing with the nutritionist about how my homemade sausages were good for you. I was marked down as a troublemaker after that.)
