Hi,

I have a Mercedes Benz E Class 2016, and wanted to get Car Play installed.

What is the best way of getting it?

I am told the MMI box wont work for it, also updating the software to High_CV15_9 should make the process easier.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

If your car has COMAND Online NTG5*1, which was introduced on the W212 in mid 2016, then native Apple CarPlay can be added/activated.

If your car has the older COMAND Online NTG4.5 (or NTG4.7), then ther's no native support for Apple CarPlay, but it can be added via a third-party device.

Either way, talk to www.commandonline.co.uk, or email your VIN to them at sales@comand.co.uk, they'll know what can be done and will also let you know how much it costs.

Just spoke to them, who said my car can have factory car play
They need to change the central USB Ports and recode the head unit.

But they are in Surrey, a long way away from me!

Is there anyone in the North West you are aware of that can do this?

Thanks

Do you remember how much they charged? I'm looking to get it enabled on my W213 with Audio 20

Mines an S212 so may be completely different in terms of work required. Can't remember exactly but I think it was somewhere between £150 and £200. On the plus side the updates also fixed DAB as it wouldn't pick up most DAB+ stations before that.
