Car related New Year Resolutions

Finally getting all those small and ridiculous jobs done like lubricating the window lifters, sunroof, wiper etc. before they stop moving completely
Getting rid of the small bits of rust that have started showing up this year
Raising the car to the max by putting in some W124 springs :D
Fixing the broken cables in the boot I've been ignoring for a couple of years now
Apart from that... enjoying driving it whenever I can (hopefully another road trip) :bannana:

Nearly bought an Alfa GT 3.2 V6 Busso last month for 3k but luckily it fell through on 11th hour.

I love the sound and I too looked at the available Busso V6 engined cars out there. There is a GTV specialist just outside Brighton who had a whole load for sale for quite high sums. Reading the descriptions virtually all of them had had engine replacements during their relatively low mileage lives. I decided after that they weren't the cars for me!

Enjoy what may be the last summer in a convertible (I still like the CLK, but getting an itch again).

Drive it more.

Stop with the useless year long cruise control experiment on the CLK and Qashqai of setting it to 75mph to see if it makes a real difference to journey times and mpg, because it does and it doesn't!
Back to a slightly less slow speed (where safe to do so of course).......

A couple for me...
* Keep my car really clean and tidy
* Secure my car. Learn about automotive security. Test the car, the keys and mobile app wireless emissions, implement preventative measures. Various gear already ordered.

I'm going for a quieter exhaust, 60 profile tyres and using STAR to set the limiter to 55mph max :thumb:.

Move on from the E55, got another little one on the way so need something more sensible.

Exactly what you get after such an awesome car God only knows.

Never one for these weight loss and stop drinking nonsense resolutions but this year I resolved to

complete my W114 tuning and remaining bits
flog at least two cars
clear out all the surplus parts from my W114 rebuild and other cars and
clear the garage of junk.

Already started on 3 this morning.

I must admit this is a very appropriate thread CM, new year and all that goes with it. I'll also have to admit it never crossed my mind about making a car related new year resolution but I've been considering it since you posted the thread.

My conclusion? What you say makes sense as there's nothing better than clearing out junk and having the Feng Shui ;) restored in the man cave. So, on that note I'll probably just buy another car plus parts and tools I don't really need and importantly keep the junk as you'd never know when 0.1% might come in handy. :D

Fight the urge not to replace the '55 with a 997 or a G-Wagen...

Get the SL into the condition I want. I number of minor things I've just not got round to but keep putting off like the boot power opening but not closing.

I made that decision last year so technically it doesn't count. :D

You still technically put it up for sale this year so it does :D

So whats next then?

Finish my saloon :D:D:D been going for long enough
