Seen on another forum but thought it may be of interest here. Every model sold in the UK is listed but only 19 colours, as defined by the DVLA data

Car Colours

The chart confirms that white cars are more popular than black now.
Seems that way out and about too. White cars everywhere:D

I'm surprised that silver is that far down the list

Losing popularity after many many years I guess.
It hides dirt nicely but its a bit bland. IMO
(Yes, I have a silver car:D)

From the website's "Learn More About the Data" page..
"What vehicles are included in the data?
Every type of vehicle is included in this data - that includes cars, motorcycles and even tractors! That's why vehiclecolours.co.uk also brings you here.
Also, wondering why the most popular colour was white last year on our front page? That's because vans are very predominantly white and make up a considerable number of all vehicles."

But I think you are correct, in that white cars do seem very popular. Perhaps influenced by fleet buyers?

Saw a car transporter full of unregistered brand new MBs of various shapes and sizes from A to CLS and all were white. They looked quite good I thought.

I'm surprised it is that far up the list. So bland, it can't quite bring itself to be an actual colour. Instead, it relies on all the other colours around it to reflect back. A parasite without even a passing effort to symbiosis.

Just confirms how popular blue has become, especially bright metallic blues. I'm surprised that DVLA use as many as 19 colours in their range. My bronze Land Rover was registered by DVLA as brown but I guess the choice is down to whoever sends in the data.

I think blue (in it's various shades/hues/finishes) has always been up there in popularity.
I still think that, in recent years at least, it's the big fleet buyers that determine the 'popular' colour. Now with PCP etc leases perhaps there will be a more diverse selection in the second hand market. Private buyers still worry too much about resale value though.

So it will be skewed by 1000s of white vans, police cars (although they are often silver nowadays!), etc.

Strange that silver is listed as a separate colour when grey is already there .

White is just-----white-until you try to match it.:wallbash: Now its popular I expect there will be a designo colour soon
"Verbier Neige" or some other pretentious twaddle ;)

This just proves that the UK population is slowly going colour blind.

Not really.
If you knock out all the white vans then chances are it is grey that is the most popular colour. The greys out there are bursting with colour.
