Guys..

is any one offering any scrappage schemes - ie private schemes..

or which brands are offering super deals for new cars.. any brand, just a small compact car. ie - Audi A1/BMW 1 series/Suzuki/Mini/Citroen/Smart etc..

Any advice would be appreciated!

When the scrappage scheme was running, Mazda offered me six grand for my wife's then 15 year old Fiat Panda against a new RX-8. Shows how much profit they have in a new car, that was without me even trying. I bet I could have screwed another grand out of them. And a set of mats .

28.5%? Wow... They must have a serious amount of metal to shift, and you're right: residuals on cars already owned will be hit hard with that level of discounting.
