car service indicated

having only recently bought my w211 e320 avantgared (2003)
full mb service. 50k. The cluster service indicator showed E service 8330.
After 1200 mls. indicator still the same. Is this correct

It will decrease depending on how the car is driven, length of journey etc etc.

The fact that it isn't counting down is very strange. They can average between 10k-15k between services.

On my old E Class estate, I once did 17k miles between services as indicated, so I guess somewhere, with only 10k showing between indicated services, the count down has to almost stop. I have also known the indicator to rise, especially if any new oil is added. Keep an eye on it though and look again at about 5k miles.
