My car was stolen last week by two scumbags at around 5:30 in the morning:mad:
From the CCTV it looks like it was a relay attack on the car. My car was W205 mercedes c220d amg line (16 Plate) I'm amazed how these little shits got in my car so quick, it was all over in about 20 seconds.
Once I realised my car was missing I straight away thought I'll check the mercedes me app and check the tracker but it seems like they disabled it at the top of my road.

How is this possible and why would Mercedes put such a cheap tracking system in the car when it can be disabled so easily?

These keyless cars are a joke, the manufacturers should stop selling them and they should warn drivers of affected cars to take care.

The police were a joke, they contacted me after 4 days :wallbash:
Although the insurance company will pay out, I don't know if I should buy another merc, what would you do ?

Sorry to hear this mate, scumbags indeed!! And shocking to see how quick they do it! :(
It's an on going issue these keyless cars. We had 4 BMW 3 series stolen just up the road from me last year.... I too had a 3 series. All keyless....Worrying aint it??? Now back in a Merc with a Key!

Sorry to hear about your car, some people just don’t have any morals or respect for other people belongings.

I had my motorcycle stolen just before Christmas, the police were just a waste of time, they don’t have the resources.

If I had ‘keyless’ car I’d put something like this on during the night.

Steering Wheel Lock -Deterrent for electronic thieves, tested by Experts · Barriers Direct

Not very slightly but at least you could sleep at night knowing the scumbags would probably choose something easier.

Scumbags is right... We try to remember to double-tap our keys to disable the Keyless entry, but for sure if we don't the technology is vulnerable.

The thing is I always use to double lock it with the Key, but after the long drive ( from wales to London) and unloading the car I must of forgot to, and the little rats took the opportunity and won.

My next car, I will purchase a steering lock , wheel clamp, as well as fit a tracker and a ghost immobiliser.
Don't think it will go anywhere then lol.

It's getting totally out of control. I was also consider buying a 10 year old beat up car because it seems like your not suppose to have nice things these days.

I keep my keys in RIFD pouches at home to prevent this occurrence. Bought a pair from Amazon for about £5. I have tested them and they block all wireless signals 100%. Peace of mind.

Since having my motorcycle stolen I’ve been looking into CCTV that you can configure to set an alarm off if someone enters a specific zone. If it went off my Staffy would be the first one out of the door who would happily ‘welcome’ anyone onto my property that he doesn’t know...

I don’t think they’d be in a position to be stealing things again for quite some time. Of course, he would have got out ‘by accident’ gov as I would never normally take him out in the dead of night when everybody is asleep.....

I would still buy another Merc, 90% of cars these days are keyless. As you've stated, we must adapt to these thugs. It's a horrible thing to go through I bet. But Merc all the way ;)

it hurts me every time I watch it.:(

The flip side is I can get a newer model with extended warranty as the one I had, the warranty was about to run out in a couple months.

Please everyone look after your cars.

I would buy a Merc with a key, keyless has become a removable option on some, mine was opted out....

You can disable the key and also remove the push to start button.

Me too..... The 2nd keys are in a large metal safe so their 'safe' and I often park the Merc in the garage. The double tap to disable handsfree is handy but really frustrating when you forget you did it and wonder why the car won't open.

What a sad thread and I'm sorry to read and see the footage of these b@stards who won't go out and earn their own money to buy their own Merc/motorcycle etc.
Up here in the Highlands things are slightly safer but they are more 'targeted' for instance there's been a spate of thefts at farms of the sat nav guidance systems in the tractors which are worth ££££ or building site equipment.
Both our CLKs are not keyless go, glad they're not after reading this.
There are some horrid people walking around on this earth or ours! :(
