Car vibrates above 70 mph

Hi,

Car 2009 E350 CDi Coupe is fine up to 70mph but above that speed (only do that on French motorways) the whole car vibrates and feels unsteady. Nothing out of normal felt through steering wheel, performance fine, fuel consumption fine, gearbox changes fine, tyres/wheels fine.

Any ideas please ?

I know you have stated the wheels/tyres are fine but it does sound like an unbalanced wheel or defective tyre

As above, probably a rear wheel/tyre as you say nothing felt through steering wheel.

Friend of mine had similar problem
Went to dealership explaining the situation......hilarious what happened next
Dealership calls him back - sir car is ready for collection unfortunately we couldn't reproduce the fault as driving above 70mph is illegal
