Reminded me of this "SLS" I saw at an exhibition in Kraków three years ago:

I did try lifting one of the doors and concluded that it probably weighed more than a whole real SLS

Yup, good spot.

There was some amazing stuff there, not just “cars”. According to the hand-out with our entrance tickets, many of the bigger more complex exhibits (like the cars) took up to 20,000 man hrs to build.

I don't doubt it, metal fabrication is very labour intensive. They've done well with getting the shapes right.
