Following government restrictions my C220D will be not be used for the foreseeable future. I can easily start the engine every few days and move it up and down the driveway so stop tyres becoming distorted but is there anything I should do to help protect the catalyst converter? Prior to being garaged the car completed a 200 mile relatively fast drive.

If it's not being used at all for a lengthy period, I'd avoid just starting it up to move it a few feet and then stopping it again. All that does is takes more charge out of the battery and leaves combustion condensate in the engine and exhaust system to cause corrosion.

If you're worried about tyres becoming distorted (and that takes much more than a couple of weeks to happen), turn the ignition on and put it in neutral and push it a foot or two along the drive.

Personally I'd be more concerned about keeping the battery in good order. Leaving it on a maintenance charger (there's another thread running about charger alternatives) is one option, or charge it every 4 weeks.
