I've never really posted here before about something like this but it might be a good place to start.
I'm currently in the Pharma industry, work for a reputable company, good wages, they treat the employees VERY well and all the rest of it but there's a BUT...
The 'but' here is that I do not feel fulfilled. I graduated 2 years ago with a Maths degree and I always thought that I'd end up doing something that requires some lateral thinking, preferably a lot of it. The kind that makes you go home and your head hurts (throbbing).
I thought of other stuff... Oil/Gas/Banking industry seem appealing but they seem to look at GCSE & A Levels for some odd reason, and I didn't get good grades (mainly B's & C's) because at the age I quite frankly didn't know/care.
I'd love to get into game development ideally, or programming of some kind... but I don't have the direct knowledge of the programming languages... but any time I come across it at work I take courses (my boss is keen on 'skilling' me up, so I make excuses like this when I want to learn) and get on with it, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoy it.
Making elegant codes to do things... functions to solve things, or to solve part of a problem or whatever.... I love that stuff... and I don't get enough of it at work! .... I want to be able to utilise my mind in a fulfilling way so I don't feel empty inside.
What do you think I should do?
