ML wheels ?

Wheels are cheap in Cali , not in the UK generally speaking.

What's the offset jonnyboy ?

12 or 14mm studs ?

Offset 35 on the front, 30 on the rear. Studs? Don't know.

For the avoidance of any doubt this is their current condition:-

Great wheels, and sadly I'm not in the market but surely you have an idea of price. It's not fair for people to be the buyer and seller.... It makes it difficult to buy or sell on here and many other forums insist you have a price.

Here here!! Just browsing myself. Not in the market for the wheels so sorry. But yes I agree. Out of all the forums I've been on this is the only for sale one that you don't have to state a price and it annoys the hell out of me. Also I think when you read a for sale add with no clue of price your more likely to move on.

Rant over. Sorry about that. Nice wheels tho.

Gentlemen
I actually agree with a lot of what has been said.
From a personal perspective it goes without saying that I want the absolute maximum I can get for them. I don't feel guilty or selfish about that - it's human nature.

What I will say is - when you are all saying "hey look at this item on ebay, wonder what it will go for?", or even when you look at any item that is up for auction, where is the difference? An item is worth what someone will pay for it. Especially something which has genuine rarity value, and is therefore fairly difficult to value.

So I am not here to rip anyone off. In the difficult circumstances surrounding my 129 I just want to move on gracefully.

Thanks for all of your interest. You'll notice I decided not to respond to the derisory figures some have bandied about.

Strange how beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Both the design and the condition are poor! Going to cost £75 each to restore. How much are "Carlson" when new then?

I don't think anybody is saying that but what I do think is you are not helping yourself for a potential sale. Really, eBay is the way to go if you want an auction type sale, at least there it's go a time limit, a reserve price and an option of best offer. Personally, I would have the wheels refurbished first as the current condition badly detracts from them. Good luck with the sale.

Carlsson make expensive wheels , they are in the same mould as lorinser etc , specialist mercedes tuners.

Don't think for a moment that these are Halfords specials because they aren't

I expect these would have been getting on for £6k a set when new.

Here's an old ebay listing for some refurbed ones.

Thanks Howard. That is constructive, and appreciated.

I have been semi-reliably informed via several sources that if these were refurbished they could be worth in the region of £1500.

The issue is - potential buyers may not want the sort of finish I would go for - as an example I think (on your recommendation!!) that black chrome centres and a shiny painted silver lip would be stunning, but someone else may want them standard silver with a polished rim.

Far better then to let them go at a price within which the buyer can have them refurbed to his/her own spec?
