I'd be a little careful about dealing with someone who has only a mobile phone number and no physical address on their website.

That said, the mobile phone number is an old one (I think it would have originally been an 0386 vodafone number) so it may be a trader who has been in business for years but isn't that computer literate and has got a bought-in website.

Proceed with caution..

Cheers,

Gaz

Thanks, they were my exact concerns too, not comfortable with it at all.

Just checked who the domain is registered to and it comes up with:

Mark McLaughlin, it lists his address too.

Although it's publically available information I won't post it here. The domain was registered in April 2007.

CARSELECT1.COM LTD is also a registered company (Company no SC327303, registered in Scotland). The address differs from that of the domain registation but it is in the same area.

Similarly the company was also registered in 2007.

The business details should really be shown on the website, however it could well be legitimate. It certainly doesn't look as fishy as some of the other businesses I've come across.

depends on the model of mini; i think some are fetching very good money now.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to come up with this information very much appreciated

Anybody heard of these or dealt with them?

personally selected vehicles from carSelect1.com

They have offered to by a friend of mines Mini for what I think is an unbelieveably high price as they say they have a buyer for it. I cant see how they are going to make a margin on it and it has set the alarm bells ringing

Company registered since 2007. Return is a little bit overdue. Current address at Companies House is private dewelling in Ayr. Has moved location at least once - in late 2007 from what is probably another private dwellings. There is another company registered at the same address "MAX PROPERTIES INTERNATIONAL LTD" and website: Max Properties International Ltd - Property Land Investment Development, UK, Ireland

Make of it what you will.

This is probably the same as the ones who ring up and say 'I have buyers for your car, give us the fee of £x and we will sell it in no time'
Funnily enough you never see your money again and have no recourse!
I told them that if they have buyers for my car then sell it and I would give them my fee after, or they could take it off the proceeds......errr we cant do that Sir!

I had a call from a similar type of company when we sold our A Class. It was relatively high spec and I got a call from a 'car sourcer' who had a potential buyer. The buyer was looking specifially for a Black A Class with the sunroof, AMG wheels and Parktronic.

The way the guy said it would work was that they would buy the car on behalf of the lady they weren't trying to charge an introduction fee or anything.
