Cat D E55

I wonder what the damage is to make it a CAT D ...not much of an explanation on the ad, and a car cutting out doesn't make it an insurance write off.....unless its flood damage !

only one day to go so it really would be taking a punt...

"Easy repair if you know what the problem is" But does the seller tell us what the problem is, 'course not. Bet his phone is not ringing off the hook.

From the ad, I would guess that it has previously been repaired(hence Cat D) & now there is the problem with the engine...
Nice car though.

Pity its in Ireland.

Right up my alley that one.

Says on the ad £186 delivery to mainland UK Olly ....

Reckon you can fix it ?

That's perfect for a mechanic to buy, fix and keep. If it goes cheap, that's a car for life. Considering the electrics on these cars it will be a puzzle but nothing can be non repairable in the right hands and over time.

Whats that box by the gear lever?

The plot thickens
Scam?:dk:

At least one of them is telling porkies..

Well there's two sets of phone numbers - one on the eBay listing (mobile) and another, different number on the autotrader site.

My guess it that the eBay ad is a scam, you are naturally suspicious of an expensive car being sold cheap. But an expensive car with a (minor) sounding problem can get people excited easily (as on this thread). Possible bargain if it can be fixed, etc.

I think the cat-D and running issue is a distraction from the potential issue of a scam. And conveniently based in Ireland knowing most interested parties will be from the UK mainland.

Someone ring both sets of numbers at once, and then see if there's actually two different people selling this car... ;)

I thought that too Will until I saw that the eBay seller has the original pics without the 'image property of autotrader.co.uk' on the top left unless the eBay seller has ripped the pics from another source maybe..

Well spotted Janner

Any write off will need a vic check any way. Also be a nightmare getting re-insured. I know!
