What the law said about buying a car in Category D? Is the seller mandatory to classify it? :(

How do I check a car is category D?

Run an HPI report or ask your insurance company, they will know.

A seller isn't obliged to tell you unless you ask them, then they are.

Di you run an HPI report when you bought the car, it's good insurance for finding out about outstanding finance, write off status, etc.

If it all goes pearshaped afterwards you can claim off HPI.

Ditto Dieselman...seller only has to disclose if asked.
