Caution All Car Sellers

Like many others I have advertised my vehicle here, a site for dedicated MB owners. OK.

As such I have received enquires for the same. However one such enquirer asked unusual questions, points that were clearly in the advert, which sent alarm bells ringing. In my case the originator lead me to believe they were from the UK but the email actually originated from the USA.

My emails would also appear to eminate from the US since my mail server is in the US.

Doesn't mean I am located there though.

Signs of scammers

unwillingness to meet face to face

Request for payment by western union/ money gram/ fake escrow site

propose overpaying for an item via cheque and asking you to send back the excess funds (fraudulent buyers)
