CD Changer help

I have just finished fitting a CD changer (MC3520) to my 05 CLK.
It came with integrated phone and I put Comand in 6 months ago.

The problem is there is no sound from the changer.

The comand Cd works OK as does the radio and the phone kit.
The CDC is seeing all the disks and counting up and playing the tracks - even the MP3 tracks.

Any suggestions most welcome...

do you get the CD changer soft key from the audio menu?
Did you extend the fibre ring (2 orange cables in a figure 8 connector)to include the changer, and if so are they in the preferred order device wise on the MOST network?

No doubt someone will be along shortly who knows how to go forward.

Thanks for the quick response.

Yes I do get the CDC menu when the changer is fitted.
I can select various disks and see the tracks. I also see the time counter clocking up when a track is playing - but no sound.
I removed the phone from the MOST bus but the CDC does exactly the same. When the MOST bus isn't connected properly I get no sound from anything and the Comand switches off after 10s or so.

I think I may have a duff unit but I'm hoping there is a simple solution.

Its not muted is it when the CDC is playing?

Did the cd changer attach via a small adapter loom that takes all of the speaker cables etc and other connections and moves them back one stage if you know what I mean?
Are all the connections good in the main connector?

No, not muted.

There is a 3 wire connector for power +12, Gnd and wake up (I think)
Then there are the 2 fibre connectors.
They are the right way round cos the other way nothing happens and when disconnected whilst playing the whole system freezes and the phone won't work either.
