Hi all,

Has anyone else ever got a CD stuck in their Audio 10 unit, if so how did you remove it?

I popped into a main stealer and they informed me that they would have to book it in, nothing like a bit of friendly advice!!!

If anyone has any ideas I would really like to hear them. :)

My personal advsie would be that if that is the stance of ur local Stealer then ur looking to at least get stinged for an hrs labour... (unless under warranty)

Take car down to ur local Audio specialist who will probably be able to remove the CD for u at fraction of the cost of the stealer (but may possibly need the MB keys to remove the head unit but should really have them themselves) ... unless someone else here can give you intructions on how to D.I.Y.

If u press the eject button can u hear the mechanism trying to relase the CD at all?

Hope u get it sorted.

Thanks for the advice, not sure why but I didn't think of doing that...

It doesn't appear to register that a CD is loaded, when pressing the eject button NO CD appears on the display.

if it's the Audio 10 CD with the rounded edges (as opposed to the 'old' style squared edges), they can be bought off eBay for about £75. maybe cheapest just to get another one, if warranty does no cover your unit.

try powering it fully off (as in un plug it) and try again?

try half inserting an old (aol?) cd and yank it out before it is fully taken in - hold edge with a pair of pliers - thus tricking it into thinking its just taken a new cd in / theres a problem and it might eject / try to eject?

:) Cheers all for your tips, I will give them all a try, but no doubt will end up buying a new stereo....
