Anyone know if there is an issue with the above? I know of a couple of people who are getting random blue screens, mainly on boot-up but occasionally when in the middle of an app such as Word or Excel. I know it could just be a dodgy RAM module but I'm sure I've heard that there might be a problem, plus a fix from either MS or Intel. Sorry, have no more info at present.

TIA

The issue affect computers that have an small incompatability issue with the BIOS on the Motherboard. You could look for a BIOS update that may resolve the issue, however BIOS flashing can be risky.

Microsoft have a patch that can work arround the issue. Download the file from URL below, and install it before installing SP2, Ensure SP2 is installed on a fresh installation of windows.

The compatability issue should not cause instability in applications, it tends to cause the system to hang during Service Pack installation.
