380SEC
Advice gratefully received. I have a 1983 380SEC and the central locking has packed up. It locked in a car park, return an hour later and it no longer works. Problem is that is has locked the petrol filler cap shut. Two questions (and I have to admit I know very little about these cars):
- Is there an override switch to allow me to release the filler cap?
- what is likely cause of central locking failure and how can it be repaired?
Many thanks.
Matt

Likely to be a vaccum pipe that has developed a leak. Might be a fuse or faulty pump. Can you hear the vacuum pump running? You should be able to unlock the fuel cap. Inside the boot by the filler there will be a little tag you can pull to move the pin that locks the fuel cap.

Thanks - I haven't listened out for the pump, but will do. Can you tell me where the pump is located. Thanks for the fuel filler release tip - very helpful as warning light has come on.

Not sure on your car but on a 124 its under the rear seat wrapped in foam. Worth a look as it could be in the same spot.
