Central locking not working

I have a w210E55 AMG 1998.

My central locking has stopped working.


The light flashes on remote but doors don't unlock.

Is this a common fault? Is there a module to change.

Is there a reset to do or a test?

Check fuses relating to central locking / vacuum pump.

Also try unplugging the electrical connections to the pump for 30 minutes then reconnect and test.

Edit; Have you replaced the remote fob batteries recently?
Is the car battery ok, car start ok?

check the PSE pump under seat (search the forum for info there is lots of info as they are known to fail)
check its not damaged by moisture (common prob)

My E 320 cdi 2006 has a strange problem, the remote will work a night when it's dark but from no more than a metre away, when it's sunny or daylight I'm lucky if it will unlock at all. Anyone got any ideas please

Change the batteries in the key remote?
