Hi, Not sure if this comes under Engine/Transmission or Suspension so have posted to both. Is this normal? Have re-joined the rebuilt CLK (2005) A209 subframe to the body, everything fitted as it should have. Bolted the flexible coupling/donut to the diff then to the prop shaft. However when it came to refitting the prop shaft centre bearing it hangs a little, no more than 20mm, down from its location point. I would have expected a perfect vertical alignment. No force is required to push it up to tighten the bolts but I notice a very small flex in the donut when the bearing is pushed up. Anyone experienced this or am I being paranoid?

Do you mean it hangs down a bit before you bolt up the carrier?

I don’t think that is a problem then. Is if different to when you dismantled it all or did you just not notice?

Yes that's right. Hangs down just about 20mm or so irrespective of universal joint position. No problem with alignment.

Just didn't notice. Too much else to concentrate on! Thanks for reply.
