Change from 4 button to 12 button wheel?

Hey guys

I just received my w204 a couple of week ago, but totally missed out on several extras that i'm really missing!!

My benz is a c180K blue efficiency, classic line...which in the UK is called SE i guess. Stupidly, 180s are only offered at very basic spec lists here in Egypt. It only has the 4 button wheel, with an instrument cluster thats just empty, without the small screen in the middle of the speedo. Also, that 4 button wheel is just poor to say the least. Crappy plastic and all

Question is, can i change my current cluster to the one with the small screen and therefore be able to change the wheel to a 12 button one?

Yes, this is part of the Comand retrofit task for a car that does not have the cluster or the wheels from factory. It probably isn't cheap and you need a good shop with on-line Star preferably (to add/remove option codes and to perform the SCN coding).

You will need a brand new cluster(v expensive) which will need to be coded by a dealer.

And what do you mean its part of the comand upgrade? do i need to get comand to get this done? I'm fine with Audio 20...i just need the cluster display and the wheel!

It changes dependant on trim level, colour etc. If you go into your MB dealer, and tell them to put your chassis number in, then look in Section 99 COMAND retrofit, and they will see the airbag and cluster part numbers in there which will come up with correct colour codes etc

You dont need to do the COMAND upgrade to do this. If you had ordered factory phone prewiring you get that stuff by default, so its a good option to order
