I have spent the last few hours changing the glow plugs on my E300 TD estate. I have heard some horror stories about ackwardly positioned nuts and broken glow plugs. Well I would deffo recommend either having access to a ramp or a pit (I used a pit) unless you want to be a contorsionist lying on your back. But overall I would advise anyone to have a go at this job themself. I dont have a vast mechanical knowledge and have never worked on either a diesel or a Mercedes before. So if you are needing it done dont go to a rip off garage try it yourself, all you need is some basic tools, some good eyesight and alot of penetrating spray.
