I've just bought a late 2002 EClass and found that it's only got a cassette radio (no CD)! I took the car into my local MB dealer whom have told me that it's going to cost over £500 to fit a CD unit. I would therefore prefer to install my old Din MP3 CD player and have looked around the net and seen a facia adapter I could install. Before I buy one I would be grateful if anyone could advise me:

(i) if these facia adapters mess up the look of the dash; and

(ii) if the MB radio is likely to be connected via an ISO as that's what I need for my blaupunkt MP3 player.

Thanks

Dont think its the right unit

Think that that one on ebay is not for w211, w211 has only fiber optic connector at the back.

So the part no should start with a211.

Am sure someone will know more

PS it might be better idea to get cd changer installed. Cheaper and 6 cds. And you keep your unit too.

Thanks for the reply League67. My current Audio unit does start with A211 so it does look as if the one on Ebay is no good for me.

My initial thoughts of installing a facia adapter now appear to have disappeared as I can't find an adapter to allow the merc plug to connect to an ISO socket for my MP3 radio.

Have you any idea how much a basic CD changer would cost for supply and fit by an audio business other than MB as I want to avoid their high prices of £550 in the dash or £750 in the glove compartment.
