Just had my W210 serviced at main dealership today. Report can back that the v-belt and front drop links require replacing. Declined the offer from dealership to these as I have changed V-Belts before. But how to change the drop links?

Not sure on a W210, but I did mines recently on a W203 just before it was traded in.
Easiest thing in the world to do. Just remove the plastic cover from underneath, hold the centre of the bush with a small socket and use a spanner to loosen the nut. Do this on the both nuts and remove the droplink, and install in the reverse.

couple of sockets, and a spanner is all you need.

This is for a W210 not a W203. You will need to remove the Anti roll bar as the drop links are pressed over the Roll Bar and a pig to do in situ. And yes, I am back.

What I meant was that the 210 is different than the 203. You need to remove the roll bar on a 210. The drop links are only bolted on at the lower end. The tops are pressed over the bar on rubber bushes.
