changing fog lamp on 2001 CLK

hi all,

just bought myself a 2001 CLK 320...absolutely delighted with it.

just one query....the near-side fog lamp is smashed

1). how easy is it to change ?
2). is it a whole new lamp unit..or just the lens ?

ok....have just done a search on here and on benzworld.....seems an easy job

Depends what side as the passenger side has the washer bottle behind it, I changed just the glass , cost about £9.00 from the stealedrship. You have to have very strong fingers if you change the glass without rmoving the complete lamp. I found that i could not get the complete lamp in place with the washer bottle in situ . so i clipped it in place on the car. Had to say a few ***#'s :bannana:

yep..its passenger side....8 quid for the glass from the main dealer ( nice surprise.. as i was expecting something like 30 quid)

i think i'll try the brute strength method first...and just try to lever the lamp unit to pop the glass in

plasters at the ready for cut knuckles
