Changing grille - Chrome surround

I am about to swap out the grill to a black gloss e63 type, however I just noticed that my car currently has a chrome grille surround. Similar to NEW GENUINE MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS W213 FRONT CHROME GRILL SURROUND A2138850200 | eBay



What would be the best option to get gloss black - paint or wrap?

I am assuming it would be easier to wrap when off the car?

Easier to get the correct style and colour you want. I've just changed my standard chrome grille to pan american style black and chrome. I love it although its marmite to some. Also removed 3 pointed star and replaced with flush bonnet badge

The issue is the aftermarket grilles do not come with the grille surround.



If your lucky enough to have a black grille surround then its simple. In my case i have taken the chrome surround off and sent to get wrapped in gloss black.

I know mine was a C class but I sent it off to be hydro dipped in carbon effect, if you fancy something different.

The grill surround can be wrapped on the car if you prefer, had my old TT done with no issues!

Got the chrome surround wrapped in black... and fitted the grille today.
Preferred the older type e63 wing grill to the panamerica.

defo wrap it easy to peel off when you get bored of it lol or want to sell car as standard
