Changing status line from speed to temp on B Class

The status line on my B class has the speed in KMH displayed above the auto gear section part - it says in my book that this is not changeable in the uk but other countries can have the outside temp displayed there - can this be changed or is it locked down - seems a bit odd to me . Thanks

I stand to be corrected, but it's locked down. It's part of the UK construction and use rules or alternatively ECE 39 (PDF, see section 5, probably with later updates covering digital displays that I cba to track down) that the speed must be displayed both in mph and km/h. By going for a nice clean mph-only dial in the UK (not seen a B-class, but that's what my E is like), MB are forced to lock the status line to km/h.

If your car is a pre model year 2009 it can be changed but you will need someone with STAR to do it.

The requirement is for you to be able to display KMH. The changing of the display that we offer allows outside temperature or speed to be displayed.

Thanks Alfie it's a sept 2010 model so i take it it can't be done - if it can is it a dealership fix or a Mercedes specialist - any idea of cost ? Many thanks

Cant be done on a 2010.
