Changing the H U on an SLK R170 2002

Hi

Has anyone changed their H U on their R170 SLK?
I am interested in any wiring issues there might have been, specifically the standard connection that fits into the back of the new H U.
Was an adaptor required? Halfords have said that one isn't required but I'm not convinced...

I have, and no adaptor was required - went straight in.

Did your system have the standard subs behind the seats?

ermmm.... not that I know of. - just the standard door speakers and tweetys.

I did find that the radio reception didn't seem to be so good, but as we rarely listen to the radio, it hasn't been a problem.
