Changing the main display background and font colour

Just bought a W211 estate, 2009. The main display was black text on white background, to match the white dials. I reset it to factory settings and now it's light text on dark background. Can't see how to get it back to black on white. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I think the OP's point is that anything he may have done from the instrument cluster controls, should be reversible using same controls.

I realised that, but I've never seen the option in a menu of a car that age, hence the reply.

MY SL is 2009 so same vintage if not exact same model and not found or seen an option to change that

Does it have a day/night/auto option? Sure I’ve seen that in the display settings on mine and it does similar to what you describe?

Hi,
As myromeo states it sounds like you have inadvertently selected day or night mode if it is this colour display all the time.
It is in the cars menu somewhere, possibly the display settings in the COMAND, on my CLS55 (same as the 211) I have mine set to auto was set at that when I bought never changed it for any amount of time I always put it back to auto in a day or two.
