Changing the manifold to fit a different exhaust

I've got the m271 engine in my w204 the cat I need is A2044907214 which is mercedes only part
I have seen a catalytic converter on Ebay which is a quarter of the price but doesn't fit my car I was wondering if I change the exhaust manifold to the one that fits the cheaper cat would it fit and work

Or you could cut yours off and weld in the one from ebay?

Are you sure its the CAT that is the issue?

Cats collapsed so knocked them out the cat comes round the steering column so thought it would be easier to change the manifold there only 30 pound for a second hand one
