My daughter is approaching 17 so we're looking for a car for her to learn on.
Must be cheap to insure, so something like a Nissan Micra, Corsa, Polo, Pug 106, Daewoo Matiz, 2CV or similar.
Probably in the price range £100 to £1000 but I might be persuaded to spend more for something interesting.
Her main priority is a bright colour, so orange, purple, green, blue or yellow would be a bonus, but even if it's silver or white I'll try to persuade her.
Service history and just one or two owners would be nice, but condition is more important than mileage. Having said that, a few knocks and dents wouldn't matter at all if the price is reasonable.

I may have the perfect thing for you, my sister is upgrading her car, so will find out more about when and what, and get back to you on Wednesday.

My daughter is selling her peugeot 205.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Grav888. I'm in the Midlands so Rochester would be a long way to travel for a 205, unfortunately.

BlackC55. A 190E would be marvellous but I'm sure the insurance would be prohibitive.

Whizzkid. Sounds exciting! Let me know what you've got.

Matiz - horrible to drive and generally unsafe feeling. Likewise 2CV not very safe.

How about a Ford Ka? My wife recently changed from a Saab turbo to a Ford SportKa (1.6 engine) and its a real hoot to drive - more fun than the C43 in many ways. The 1.3 version will be better option but I imagine they're quite fun to drive, plus simple and cheap to work on.
