Cheap SL300

with the problem on the roof problem not really cheap as 1k need to be spent their it is 1500 to make viable, other wise u r buying hassle

Secondhand pump about £250, secondhand roof ECU about the same, maybe less. You don't have to buy new parts, plenty being broken for spares.

I still think it's viable.

me too leigh.
if it had been a black interior and 24v i would have bought it and stripped it

Interesting. A LOT of cars advertised under that phone number if you put it in google.

And not that cheap.

My old 300SL was advertised recently for £3000 with 100,000 miles and it had everything done on it, including head gasket and everything worked.

Was half-tempted to buy it back but after the V8, I just couldn't.

there is one on ebay 24v which was bought couple of weeks ago just like that, only had according to the dealer who took in part exchange problem with the fuel distrubtor which went for £1500.

u can tempt him to buy to strip

You're right - it's not just the issue with the roof. A 20 year-old car with big mileage and no MOT could indeed be a lot of hassle and lead to huge expense.

And that reg. is worth nothing like £1500 !

offer him 500 and he can keep reg

firstly he wanted 3k with reg, i offered him 1500 he refused , then he realised roof does not work he dropped the price, i offered 1200 he refused i think it is sold now.

the 300 sl 24 valve it has disappeared but it wa sin wokingham berks area dealer selling fuel distributor problem and would not take less than £1500

what colour interior are u after there is front seats in black on ebay right now

I was just having a read of that - I suppose the seller of the SL does not have to care as long as they got paid, it would be people buying the car.

Did the S430 go John?

am after black actually.
only need the pads, not the frames (look at the postage costs as those seats are ****** heavy!)

I cant tell if they are late or early seats (mine is a '92)

Could you get a retrim done cheaply?

Still here, the other chap had to delay viewing for a week.

It's been valeted and loks stunning (as does the CL which came up gorgeous).

Gonna stick 'em on ebay later tyoday in the meantime.

Not really - I spoke to David at d class and you're looking at circa £150/£175 per seat. The pads come out so it's "plug and play".

That said, I'd like to make this car a little "different" - the one problem I have is the market has collapsed in these since I bought it and I have so much £ in the car I may as well make it really nice, and at 140k miles it's never going to attract the "concours original" market anyway. Its a nice colour (gun metal grey ish) and I have the staggered Carlssons to go on so maybe two tone seats may look good and lighten it up bit inside?
