Hi, as per the subject, the message is still there when pads have been changed. ive read it may be because the sensors need to be replaced, is this a difficult procedure to do myself?

thanks

Most garages will change the sensor as a matter of course.

I think the sensor and wire are under a tenner Retail, possibly less if shopping around.

Older cars used to have two sensors, one for each side, newer car have just one sensor based on the premise that the pads would normally wear equally on both sides.

Defo the sensor, think it should be on the front drivers side and is less than £10 for the part.

MB used to (possibly still do) fit sensors both sides on some but not all models, to enable the ASSYST to calculate pad wear and flag up brake service info.

The sensor one side would trigger at 50%, the other side at 100%

mechanic changed the sensor, he only used 1 but the fault is cleared
