Hello,

Today morning an engine light started showing on my C180 Classic.

I did some research and have found Equus 3100 Innova CanOBD2 Diagnostic Tool on net. It looks good to me but I have one doubt which is will it be compatable to my car...Website says this was made for american cars.....Its does not mention anything about european cars.....

Could anyone please help

Ive got the u581 from e bay with a 16 pin obd to merc 38 pin adaptor lead, works okay on my car with the 38pin socket and the wifes 203 with the obd socket.

Both 2001 cars, also used it on a few other cars as well vauxhall and vw.

£75 iirc

Lynall's is a handheld device, not laptop based (although some of the pictures do show a CD, not perhaps it does offer a PC link).

As mentioned you'll need a 38 pin adaptor for a 202 but the standard 16 pin OBD should be fine on a 203. (Baron what year is your CLK?).

I'm using one of the cheap £20 Elm327 chinese clones connection to my laptop, running either scantool.net (limited foc version), EasyOBDII or my own software (which does logging as well).

The one i have now is about a year old, i blew the last one up:eek: i think the cd is to connect the machine to the pc but after screwing the last one up i wont be plugging this one in anytime soon!

Can be updated via the net apparently.

Hello,

I also used Scantool in the end and was able to clear engine light..message i received when diagnosed...was 02 sensor low votage..When i spoke to the garage they said the car usually has two 02 sensors...is it true or are they fudging their way out..as they changed lamda sensor few months back.... they said 02 and lamda sensor are two different thing...

Mines got 2 on each bank of cylinders, 1 before and one after the cat.

02 = Lamda sensor - some cars have 2 (one either side of the CAT). With scantool or EasyOBDII you should be able to tell how many are reported.

You asked about logging? I've written my own software - that talks to the ELM and reads all the sensors present as well as giving the usual displays it logs using perfmon counters so you can use Windows in built perfmon tool for logging to disc and graph drawing. It's very much beta test, but happy to build a version and send if you're interested.

Steve,

Yes ..I am interested in trying your software...not sure how you will be able to send ..is it possible via email...Please advise

I have found software MB74 from carsoft when I try installing software its says langauge file is missing...as I think you are guru in writing softwares ....could you please help..and advise what has gone wrong

Have just bought the U581, works ok on my W203 C180 2001. Carried out the 2009 update via website, connects via COM1 port. MIL light was on fault code reads O2 sensor, assume that is the Lamda sensor as per stevesey's post 10.

Wait until engine is hot then plug in u581 and scroll down until you find the lambda outputs and see how fast and at what voltage they are switching at.

Lambdas only start being a factor in the running of the engine when its all up to temp, or closed loop.

I need to build a release version/install pack - will do and post a link to it soon. Have a family crisis (*2) going on at the moment, but should have some time this weekend.

I assume that carsoft is a cracked version - so I wouldn't be suprised if it fails to install. Haven't tried carsoft myself and forum rules mean we shouldn't be discussing how to install cracked stuff.

I agree with your comment steve....

Welll...will wait for your post on install pack..take it easy...no rush...

Any body knows location of bank one o2 sensor one. which side of exhaust its on on W203

Can anyone help me in finding source of cheap o2 sensor as well..

Thanks in advance
